"The Ark Before Noah"
by Doug Mason inas well as providing new archaeological information, the book "the ark before noah: decoding the story of the flood" by irving finkel (published 2014) provides material for those of us who are interested in the neo-babylonian period.
for example, one subheading is: "why were the judeans in babylon?
" (page 226).. dr irving finkel is assistant keeper of ancient mesopotamian script, languages, and cultures at the british museum.

Vangogh- If the methane levels were kept below 4% and above 9% in air then there would be no risk of explosion, and at low level it could be ingnited at roof level which would produce a low level blue flame and thus giving light on the lower decks. I last time I saw this in action though over 100 miners did die in the resulting explosion when the methane levels were allowed to climb. It is not uncommon in some countries where workers lives are cheap.
Theoretically the mass of the waste and volume of storage required would decrease, alot of that mass of the feed would be turned into gas through respiration and would have to be vented, solid and liquid waste could just be dumped in the flood water as we do in the sea. Your point regarding the amount of various food and fresh water require to maintain all that animal life for 1 year would have been rather excessive!!!!

This was was on TV on sunday in the UK. "The Real Noah's Ark" secret history, series 1, episode 1 Channel 4. Shame Finkel took so long to translate the tablet but a great find in an attic.
Good watch and makes sense.

Biblical Prohecies That Came True?
by Viviane inrecently there have been several claims made regarding prophecies that came true.
i've not personally seen a prophecy that i would consider as having come true.
i would consider the following as the requirements to say something is a prophecy and evaluate whether or not it came true:.

Viv, Isa 19:23-25 spiecifies that Assyria are the agreesors working as the hand of God, also in Isa 20:3-5 shows that the King of Assyria is at some time after Sargon who is speciefied in 20;1.
Isa 17 does not spiecify by whom or when, however if you apply the same standard as used to asert historical facts then it can only apply to Assyria. In 17:3 implies that Damacus and Syria become as Israel. The chornicle states that at the time Damacus/Syria exiled so was Samaria. Again we can only apply the same standard of proof to this as to secular history.
I am saying that as it has been argued in the discussion about Daniel a late date appears to used to dismiss it as prophetic are we applying the same rule to the rest of prophecy because if that is the case there is evidently no prophecies as we can not date the last redaction of the texts before the oldest copies we have.

Question about "the land of Goshen", for those Bible scholars here in the forum
by opusdei1972 ini am writing an article in my blog against the historicity of the exodus' account.
i found that a member of this forum wrote the following : "goshen.... an egyptian provance from 671-400bce ".
so it would also prove that moses could not write the passages where the name "goshen" was written.

Opus- Had a look into it but can't find anything spiecific at present, try again tomorrow. Is it the best example you have come across i'm sure there are others, and anyway can you not argue that it is just a later redaction of the original text to identify the the area/city. I am certain that is is the case of the translators of the LXX, they are following Herodetus, and others pre 300BCE, there some refs to that.
